Course Description
This course focuses on application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for the provision of safe, quality, evidence-based nursing care for individuals, families, and communities. Emphasis is placed on evidence appraisal, utilization, and scholarly dissemination. This course prepares graduates to participate as members of teams engaged in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and research.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Synthesize evidence from multiple sources to propose evidence-based solutions for provision of safe, quality nursing care. (Clinical Judgment/Evidence-based Practice)
2. Critically appraise database-derived evidence to support provision of safe, quality nursing care. (Informatics)
3. Present evidence-based interventions that support provision of safe, quality nursing care. (Leadership)
