Planning Change

The Team Dissemination Project that will be completed for the course, Evidence-based Practice II, is a proposal for positive change in nursing practice related to an issue identified by my clinical group and I, that will lead to a better outcome for the patient. This is to be implemented by suggesting implications for nursing practice related to evidence-based research. I believe this project will be accomplished smoothly, as determining a clinical issue was an easily agreed upon endeavor. My clinical group and I are able to communicate effectively, both in person and through messaging. Since we all have the same classes throughout the week, we have ample time to get together to discuss the dissemination project. Our clinical instructor has also been a helpful resource, as she is continuously working with us each week to discuss our topic and reach deadlines successfully. In addition, the use of messaging has served as a major tool in communication, because even when my team members and I are unable to meet, we can ask questions and collaborate over the phone.

Though I do not anticipate there will be any conflict during the completion of this project, I will plan to address any issues by effectively communicating with my group members. Other barriers that may arise throughout this process may include limited time, due to the vigorous curriculum and hefty workload of all of our courses this semester. However, I plan to stay ahead of schedule, and my team members do as well. Though each of us has a busy schedule, it is beneficial that we are all in the same classes and clinical group. This makes it easier to find times to meet up. Another benefit to working with my clinical group is that there are multiple views on the topic, instead of just my own. This will be beneficial in the implementation of our proposed changes in nursing practice. Collaborating with other future nurses will also help me in my own future nursing practice. I believe as a nurse, listening to others’ ideas and propositions is an imperative tool, and will help me to provide the best possible care for my patients in the future.
